Features:

  • Power increase: 13-18hp, 12-16ft-lb (Stock Tune)
  • Turbo inlet area increased by up to 160%
  • Filtration area increased by up to 40%We present an intake tract that truly sets new standards for the BMW G8X M3/M4 platform. We have carried out intensive research and development to develop an intake tract that not only outperforms the stock M3/M4, but is also future-proof as it is suitable for power increases of well over 1000 hp. Our system is a complete redesign from the airboxes to the turbo inlets with the aim of reducing pressure loss while increasing the flow rate and keeping inlet temperatures low. We have maximised the use of the available space and used 2 custom-made filters with a 40% larger filter area than the stock ones. These are used in our patented venturi housings to guide the air evenly to the turbo inlets. The inlets themselves have a cross-section up to 160% larger than the stock ones and are designed with a sophisticated, dimpled inner surface to reduce friction losses between the flow and the wall boundary. By creating an "air cushion" on the wall surface, the airflow can move through the inlets at higher flow rates and lower pressure loss. This allows the turbos to suck in the air with less resistance and thus reduce the wastegate duty cycle, resulting in higher overall performance.

  • Dyno Testing This intake has been independently dyno tested by BR Performance in Belgium. Tests were conducted back to back with the stock airbox and multiple runs were made with each configuration. The vehicle tested was driven without a carbon canister. We compared the best results with the stock airbox and the best results with the Eventuri system. The dyno results show a consistent gain across the entire rev range, which is due to the turbos reaching maximum boost pressure sooner and having a lower wastegate duty cycle due to the increased efficiency of the intake system. This gain is despite the increase in dyno temperatures from 11.8 degrees Celsius in the stock system tests to almost 16 degrees Celsius in the Eventuri tests. The power gain translates to improved response on the road at part and full throttle, with the car pulling to the redline much more eagerly.

  • Intake Air Temperature Testing Turbocharged vehicles can build up a lot of heat in the engine bay, which can have a detrimental effect on performance if the intake system is not sealed against this heat. Even with intercoolers and charge air coolers, it is important to minimise intake air temperatures as these cooling devices operate at a certain efficiency, so the exit air temperature is affected by the inlet air temperature. Restricting the intake tract with open cones, even if they are heat-shielded, will inevitably draw in hot air from the engine bay. Our system, which is fully sealed, solves this problem whilst still not restricting the flow path by using larger volumes. To demonstrate this, we recorded air temperatures using thermocouples immediately before each turbo. Comparisons were made on the same day and under the same ambient conditions between the original and Eventuri. Our M3 was allowed to warm up and was then accelerated from 30mph to 90mph in 6th gear to measure the temperature change on each run. At 90mph the accelerator was released and the brakes applied to 30mph, after which the car was accelerated back up to 90mph. A total of 3 runs were performed with both intake configurations.
